We're already looking forward to the 2023-2024 School Year! Class Scheduling Presentations took place on February 2nd at the high school for 9th,10th and 11th grade students. School Counselors will be meeting with students individually this month to discuss their course options for next year:
9th Graders - Feb. 9th & 10th
10th Graders - Feb. 6th & 7th
11th Graders - Feb. 13th, 14th, 16th, & 17th

As we are approaching the end of the winter sports season our office is starting to prepare for the spring season. Spring sports registration is now open and posted on the Maryvale Athletic webpage. Spring sport registration will close on March 3, 2023. Please register son or daughter for which spring sport they would like to try out for. ALL spring athletes must have an updated physical on file. If needed, physicals will take place in the High School Nurse’s office on the following dates and times. Please contact the High School Nurse, (716) 631-7483, to schedule an appointment for spring sport physicals.

As a reminder, registration our Winter 2023 planetarium short courses/star shows are underway NOW!

The followings three short courses have been approved: 1) Face of Earth: A look at the planet from the International Space Station, Tuesday, January 24 & 31, 2023. 2) Planet Nine or Not? Tuesday, February 14 & 21, 2023 and 3) The Skies of Spring: Peering into Intergalactic Space on Tuesday, March 7 & 14, 2023.
More astronomy classes to come in the near future!

If you currently have a student that attends the PTECH, HARKNESS or POTTER ROAD programs at Erie 1 BOCES, please note that Maryvale will not be providing transportation to or from those programs during the Regents Exam week (Jan 24 through Jan 30). If your child wants to attend their program any of those days they will have to provide their own transportation to and from the program location. Normal transportation to the Harkness, Potter Road and PTECH Programs will resume on January 31, 2023.

In Observance of Martin Luther King Jr. Day there will be no school on Monday, January 16th.

Reminder that at all ticketed sporting contest middle school students need to be accompanied by an adult for the duration of the event. There will be a $1 admission for all Varsity and JV basketball games.

Maryvale Intermediate School honored Veterans this morning in a moving and wonderful Veteran’s Day ceremony.
We are grateful for all great service men and women, and especially those connected to our Maryvale community, for their bravery and selflessness.





Erie 1 BOCES Career and Technical Centers (Harkness, Potter Road and P-Tech Programs) will be closed tomorrow (November 8, 2022) for a staff development day. Students that attend morning Harkness may come in at the time they usually come in from Harkness or P-Tech, afternoon Harkness, Potter and P-Tech students may leave school at the time they normally leave for Erie 1 BOCES as long as they have a note to leave. Maryvale will only be running the AM bus and PM runs to and from school, there will be no Harkness scheduled bussing that day. If your child does not have transportation to or from school , they are welcome to take the morning and afternoon bus runs and we will schedule them into a study hall for they time they are usually in Harkness. Please feel free to contact the main office at 631-7409 if you have any questions.
