This course covers the basic methods, machines, and related information involved in processing raw materials such as wood, plastics, metals, etc. into finished products. Students will fabricate items through various processes including molding and forming of plastics; casting of metals, shearing, and separating of solid stock; bonding, welding, and combining of materials.

This is a general course for beginning electricity/electronics students. Content: electrical/electronics terminology, basic component experiments, voltmeter, ammeter, ohmmeter operation, practical house wiring constructions.

Basic woodworking theory and practical applications are taught in this course. Content includes: use of basic hand tools and machines, exposure to design, experience in assembly and finishing of three basic wood projects. Satisfactory completion of this course allows the student to be eligible to take Advanced Woods.
