Integrated Pest Management

Integrated Pest Management (IPM) is a systematic approach to managing pests focusing on long-term prevention or suppression with minimal impact on human health, the environment and nontarget organisms. The Maryvale School District has used IPM methods for many years. Our strategy for managing pest population relies on methods that are not invasive and are based upon the pest species and whether that species poses a threat to our students, staff, property or the environment. If a situation occurs that requires the use of an EPA registered pesticide applied in a manner different from what is described above, notification to students and staff will be made.

If you have any questions regarding our IPM program please contact Mr. Charles Milne at 631-7448. Additional information may be obtained by calling the national Pesticide Telecommunications Network information phone number 1(800)858-7378 or the NYS Department of Health Ctr. For Environmental Health information line at 1(800)458- 1158.

Additionally, if you desire 48 hour prior notification of a pesticide application please contact Mr. Charles Milne at 631-7448.
