Dear Maryvale Community,
I have been made aware that social media is mentioning rumors of a threat to the high school. I want to assure the community that we take all situations that may affect the safety of our school very seriously and we follow through on all avenues to determine credibility.
I want to be sure our school community members hear the facts from me.
Both the Cheektowaga Police and the HS administration worked with a student and family about some comments that were made by the student. The comments were of a threatening nature. After a thorough investigation and also a complete search of school premises and the student’s home, we determined that there was no credible threat to the school.
