This program is offered by Maryvale Community Education as a service to the community. Geared for high school students, participants must be 16 years old by February 2, 2019 and should possess a valid NYS learner's permit or license. Satisfactory completion necessitates mandatory attendance of 16 sessions of 1.5 hours each of vehicle and 16 sessions of 1.5 hours each of classroom instruction. Upon successful completion, the student qualifies for a Certificate of Completion (form MV-285) or an insurance letter. There is a $5 per form replacement fee for any lost completion certificates, insurance letters and/or valid pre-licensing certificates. Attendance policy: three absences are permitted (includes both vehicle and/or classroom instruction together) but all absences must be made up by scheduling appropriate driver education activities. Please note that there are no additional fees for makeup classes. A $100 cancellation fee will be charged if withdrawal is made before the program begins.
