Welcome to the art department at Maryvale High School. What you need to know about Mrs. Hodge: She resides in downtown Cheektowaga with her husband, 2 cats, and many Japanese koi. Her High School Alma Mater is of crosstown rival Cheektowaga Central. Her formal art education came from the Albright Knox Art Museum School, Degrees in Illustration and Art Education from Parsons School of Design and New School for Social Research in NYC, and Buffalo State College. Master's degree in Art Education from Buffalo State College.
Past art related careers involved working at Buffalo based companies where media advertisements, illustrations, and graphics were created for two retailers and a paper board box/book manufacturer.
When not in the school classroom or on the keyboard of my classroom computer; She listens to all styles of music, enjoys traveling, and attending cultural events such as concerts, plays, and museum openings. Maintaining a 4,000 gallon backyard pond stocked with Japanese Koi and an extensive garden keeps her busy outside of school when the is weather permitting.
Making art meaningful and enjoyable is one of her goals as an art teacher here at Maryvale. Success in creating great art whether it be through drawing, painting, ceramics, media, or photography will be the greatest accomplishment that her students will achieve.
